There is free street parking on Poor Street, located in the back of VAIN Medi Spa. Please do not park in the parking lot directly behind us, as those belong to residents, and they will tow your car.
We do require that your medical history and consent forms are filled out. It is always best to try and fill them out ahead of time online. An email will be sent to you a week prior to your appointment. If you cannot fill them out online, then please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
We always do our best to try and accommodate. If you are running late, it may interfere with the treatment you had planned, and therefore we may need to reschedule. In some events, we may be able to complete some of the treatment plans. Please always call us so we can best accommodate you.
Please list these as required in the medical history form and your medical provider will review them during your appointment.
We recommend waiting until you are healed and completed any antibiotic treatments. If your body is under stress trying to heal, this could delay your healing with injectables.
Injectable services are not permitted during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. There are certain skincare services that are allowed during pregnancy/breastfeeding. We always recommend you consult with your OBGYN prior to any treatment or services.
In order to book a new patient consultation, we do require a card on file. There is a charge of $125 if you cancel within the 48-hour window of your appointment or do not show for your appointment. If you receive treatment that day, then there is no charge. However, if you do not receive treatment and it is strictly a consultation, then the $125 charge is applied.
That is the beauty of the consultation! Your medical provider will discuss what is best for your aesthetic goals and aging/skin concerns, and together you will decide what treatment plan best suits your needs.
It depends! Typically neurotoxins are completed every 3-4 months and fillers range between 6-12 months. This can vary depending on your treatment plan and overall aesthetic goals. If it is your first injectable appointment then we do prefer to see you for a follow up at the 2 week mark to ensure results have settled correctly.
100% yes. If you are investing in injectable and skin care services, it is within your best interest to use medical-grade skin care. This will help your results last that much longer and look that much better. Here at VAIN, we carry SkinCeuticals, the number one medical-grade skincare line.
It depends. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Overall, the general consensus is that injectables are very well tolerated with minimal discomfort. If a patient does have a low pain tolerance, then there are options such as lidocaine nerve blocks and ProNox to help minimize pain.
Typically a dull headache is the most common. This is benign and usually resolves with Tylenol. Rarely, ptosis can occur in less than 2% of patients. In this case, follow-up with your medical provider would be required to manage this complication.
We do recommend that any injectable services are completed at least 2 weeks before any major events. This allows plenty of time for healing and swelling to resolve. Typically with injectables, it takes 2 weeks to settle and bruising to resolve. With dermal fillers, you may experience facial swelling for 2-3 days, this is usually minimal, and patients often feel they can go about their day. Bruising will typically take 7-10 days to resolve.
We always say “if there is a needle in the face, there is a chance of a bruise.” It is impossible for us to be able to predict a bruise or not. Everyone is different and various factors can affect bruising potential such as vitamins, hydration status, tobacco/alcohol use, NSAID use, medications, exercise ect. It is best to read the pre-care instructions on how to prevent bruising.
Avoid alcohol 48 hours before your appointment, avoid NSAIDs a week prior to your appointment, start Arnica tablets 1 week before your appointment, avoid exercise and caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment, and stop fish oil/vitamin D supplements a week before your appointment.
At VAIN, we are very confident that your results will naturally enhance your own beauty, and you will be fully satisfied. Neurotoxins typically last about 3-4 months. Depending on the type of filler, it may be dissolved, however that is hardly the case.
There is something for everyone! Whether you are in your 20s looking for preventative medicine or in your late 60s and just starting. There is a treatment or service that will make you feel more confident, it is never too late.
